  Peggy & Serge Quazzotti

  For 25 years, Jean-André and Josée Stammet have left their mark on the life of the club, both through their sporting successes and their commitment to administration.

  Here are a few highlights from their sporting career:

- 23 national champion titles in standard and Latin-American dances;

- 2-time Benelux champions;

- 1-time Australian Masters champion;

- 3-time IDTA-champions in England;

- 1 Imperial Champions in London;

- 2 times vice-champions of the U.S. Open Championships in Miami;

- 7th place at the World Championships in Perth (Australia).

- 2 times one place in the semi-finals of Blackpool, the most important competition in dance sport.

- Numerous victories in Luxembourg, West and East Germany, France (Ile de la Réunion), Belgium, Netherlands, England, Switzerland, Australia, Africa, etc.

- Over 170 final places in open competitions across 5 continents.

  Following its departure from the national federation, the couple was no longer able to take part in other European and World championships. Nevertheless, it managed to beat world championship finalist couples 4 times in open competitions.

  In 1993, Jean-André and Josée Stammet decided to leave the national dance sports federation, as fair play in their sport was no longer possible in Luxembourg. For the next 5 years, they were members of the German-licensed club "TSC Grün-Gold Saarbrücken". In 1998, the couple danced their last competition in Denmark, taking a remarkable 5th place at the "Copenhagen Open Championships", once again beating a world championship finalist couple. Their coaches were a.o.: Barfusz Roman, Barr Michael, Borrow Reg †, Fenn Christa, Pr. Dr. Herbert Fenn †, Herrmann Bernd , Hillier Stephen, Keppel Gisèle, Kleibrink Heino, Opitz Wolfgang, Smith Greg, Srutek Michèle, Srutek Petr, Venables Frank, ....

  Finally, a comment from world champion and jury member at the Imperial Senior Awards in London, Denis Tremblay, published in the British press: "I am positively impressed by J. & J.A. Stammet showing a lot of quality in many departments. My eyes are specially pleased by good usage of body weight flowing through the legs and feet, as well as beautiful dynamic reactions of the upper body weight and head coming naturally out of the movement executed at the time. This is presented to me without loss of body line and togetherness, therefore no distortions are distracting my eyes. My easy winners in every dance."

  In addition to his sporting activities, Jean-André Stammet was chairman of the RWB for 25 years without interruption. Josée Stammet is currently the club's secretary. For many years, J.A. Stammet was also a member of the Board of Directors of the national federation and made a major contribution to the development and recognition of dance sport in Luxembourg. In the '80s, numerous competitions were organized and the reputation of Luxembourg dance sport spread beyond the country's borders. In recognition of their sporting achievements, the silver "Médaille de l'Ordre National du Mérite Sportif" was awarded to Jean-André and Josée Stammet in 1985.
